Black Ecologies and Geographies Coordinator

An Assistant Professor in Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, Dr. Fushcia-Ann Hoover is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in urban social-ecologies. Her research centers environmental justice in urban planning and engages the racial histories and relationships between people, place and the environment. She is the founder of The EcoGreenQueen, a company dedicated to teaching and expanding the use of environmental justice frameworks and methods across research and practice, and runs the EcoGreenQueen Blog where she distills important connections between people, place and the environment. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and holds a deep respect and love for freshwater lakes, rivers and systems.
