Lauren Johnson, MPH is from Northern Virginia and obtained her bachelor's degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences: Geochemistry from Washington University in St. Louis and her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Science and Policy from The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health after completing Teach For America where she taught high school chemistry. During her time in graduate school, she founded and presided over GWU's first environmental justice student organization and won several awards for her student leadership, master's thesis, and impact after receiving the highest award in her department. Lauren continues to advance environmental and climate justice as a Senior Analyst, Equity and Climate Justice on the Environmental Defense Fund’s Justice and Equity Team. Outside of work, she enjoys being a full-time dog mom raising her basenji puppy Opal.
